Extended warranty, how it works:

Effective January 1st, 2007, AMB i.t. offers a limited Extended Warranty for Personal Transponders. With this Extended Warranty, racers will receive a discount on the purchase of a new transponder instead of repair charges, after the initial full, three-year warranty period has ended.

The table below shows the Extended Warranty discount percentages.

1, 2 and 3 Regular warranty
4, 5 and 6 50% discount on new transponder *
7 and 8 20% discount on new transponder *

* Discount will be applied to the list transponder price of a comparable new transponder as of the repair date.

Transponder repair procedure

If your transponder stops working, is less than 8 years old, does not show obvious physical damage, and is covered by our Extended Warranty, you may send it to our repair department. Depending on the purchase date of the transponder we will offer you one of the following 3 options:

  • If your transponder is less than 3 years old, you will receive our full warranty coverage (based on the normal warranty conditions). In this case, you will receive either the repaired or new transponder at no cost.
  • If your transponder is more than 3 but less than 6 years old, you will receive a 50% discount on the purchase of a new transponder.
  • If your transponder is more than 6 but less than 8 years old, you will receive a 20% discount on the purchase of a new transponder.

Notes:

  • Extended Warranty is applicable to all transponders purchased before 1-1-2007 of the following types : TranX160, TranX260, AMBmx and AMBrc-DP
  • Until July 31st, 2007, this Extended Warranty is offered to you free of charge with the purchase of all personal transponders!
  • The moment you make use of the Extended Warranty and purchase a new transponder with the applicable discount, the extended warranty period on the returned transponder(s) terminates. At this time, you will have the option to purchase a new Extended Warranty on your new transponder.

Physical damage is not covered by AMB's normal warranty, nor by this limited Extended Warranty. This Extended Warranty is offered by AMB as a courtesy to our customer and applies in certain limited instances.
